Hong Kong - Halal Food

Finding Halal food in Hong Kong is not easy but if you did research beforehand, you can find quite no of restaurants serving halal food.

Throughout 5 days of my time in Hong Kong, I ate at 6 different halal eateries. You can check out the details below.

1. Tahitian Terrace

It is one of many eateries inside Disneyland. It offers halal food and vegetarian option. Another halal option is Explorer's Club Restaurant where you can find Korean, Japanese, Malaysian, Indonesian and other Southeast Asia food.

Unfortunately when I was there, Explorer's Club was closed so I had to settle for mutton beriyani and chicken tandoori.

Just next to Explorer's Club is a space for prayer. As it is not designed solely for prayer, other people may also come here if they wish to relax.

During my visit, it was super hot so I see some people stopped by here to cool down. It also has power outlets so you may want to recharge your gadgets while cooling down.

2. Ebeneezer's Kebab and Pizzaria

As always kebab is the easiest halal food you can find when travelling.
This one is located near MTR Central station. You can find the outlets at many other places in Hong Kong so worry not.

3. Osman Ramju Sadick Islamic Centre Canteen, Wan Chai

I came here by MTR, Wan Chai station exit A3. As soon as exit the station, turn left and continue straight.

However on my last day in Hong Kong, I discover it is easier if traveling by tram. I'll do separate post of how to use tram.

So if you are travelling by tram, stop at Tonnochy Road and walk a little bit towards Masjid Ammar and Osman Ramju.

As soon as you enter the building, take the lift on the right. The canteen is on 5th floor.

Please take note that Dim Sum is only available from 10am till 3pm. The price starts from HKD15.

Option 1: by MTR - stop at Wan Chai
Option 2: by Tram - stop Tonnochy Road

4. Ma's Restaurant

Located in Kowloon, about 300m from Prince Edward MTR station exit A.

5. Chrisly Cafe

Chrisly Cafe has a few outlets. This one is located at Shun Tak Centre, next to HK-Macao Ferry Terminal. I had halal beef macaroni and egg tart while waiting for ferry to Macao.

It was certified halal but bear in mind it also serve food with pork and ham. This cafe is certainly not for fussy eater.

6. Wai Kee

Famous for its crispy duck rice, it is located inside Bowrington Road Market and Cooked Food Centre.

I went there by tram, stopped at Canal Road West, then walk about 300m to Bowrington Road Market. Once there take stairs to 1st floor where the food court is.

7. There's a few Halal eateries at HK International Airport but as I do not eat there I will only share of its prayer area.

The one I went to is located at Terminal 2, near escalator. The concept is similar to Disneyland's; It is a space for all faiths therefore any religion not limited to Islam may use this space.
